Bible Studies

 

There are presently five Bible Studies being offered through Our Saviour and our partner congregations, Christ, New Hyde Park and Gloria Dei, New Hyde Park.

Prayer Ministries

 

The prayer group meets at Our Saviour every Tuesday night at 7:30PM.

The knitting prayer group, a ministry where shawls are knitted for those for whom we pray, gathers at Gloria Dei each Thursday night at 7:00PM.

A Portrait of the Church

 

St. Luke wrote in Acts 2:42-47 that the first century disciples “devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.”

We often think of church as a building.  While it is, it is also much, much more.  Scripture tells us that Christians are the Church.  It also tells us that the Church is the body of Christ: we are Christ’s hands and feet in the world.  Through us God’s work is done.

When we gather as a church, whether with the whole congregation or in small groups, we do it to wait on God , to be gifted for service , and to be sent into the world to do God’s works of unconditional love .
